The One and Only Gatsby.

Only Gatsby, the man who gives his name to this book, was exempt from my reaction-
Gatsby who represented everything for which I have unaffected scorn.

 If personality is an unbroken series of successful gestures,
then there was something about him, some heightened sensitivity to the promises of life, as if he were related to one of those intricate machines that register earthquakes ten thousand miles away.

This responsiveness had nothing to do with that flabby impressionability
which is dignified under the name of the "creative temperament"-it was an extraordinary gift for hope, a romantic readiness such as I have never found again.

No-Gatsby turned out all right end; it is what preyed on Gatsby, what foul dust floated in the wake of his dreams that temporarily closed out my interest in the abortive sorrows and short-winded elations of men. (Fitzgerald pg. 6)

Every person wishes to have the finer things in life to not work the 9 to 5, and have a vacation every month or so. Television shows us movies, TV shows, and music videos giving us a view of the rich and famous lifestyle we pause for a second, and think “why don’t I live like that?” we feel sadden, that we don’t own 10 cars, and a house with a pool inside but once you’re thinking voices hit your ears. It is your crazy, loving family laughing at your father jokes then that sadden feeling you had starts to disappear. Life cannot be for filled with money; of course you do need it to survive in today’s economy, but don’t let money be the main reason to live a long happy life. My family is a middle class family my parents get paid every two weeks we do struggle at times but we don’t rely on priceless meals, and trips to keep us going. I have family members that have a lot of money they look happy from the outside with their designer clothes and bags, but spend one night at their house hold and you’ll see their not to happy. The way I see it more money causes more problems like when you don’t do your work and wait till the last minute you get stressed, and sometimes depressed we even see this in movies where there is a wealthy family, and the young kid is not loved by his family he has every toy new to the market, when he’s playing with them in his own room he realizes that this is not what he wants, he just wants to be happy not for what he has, but to feel his family’s love. I live my life like I have no tomorrow; I want to leave this world knowing that I was loved for not being one of those people where I have to buy priceless items in order to be happy. If you know you’re happy with the life you have right now then you don’t to be wealthy, but it could happen if you just take the right path to success

Going the mall trying on every shirt, every jean asking your friend if this looks good on you is a slight shear panic. Hearing someone’s comment on what we look like is not what we want to hear, but we still ask, why? Is it because we care to much to on how we appear to others eyes? It’s something that we can’t explain it’s simply just a emotion we are born with, we feel that looking our best gets us to places, gets us our dates, but then there is a part of us that just doesn’t care about how other’s view ourselves. I’m going to say this for all girls, not just for me us females feel we have to look our best to fit in to the social groups, we even have those thoughts about how we don’t feel pretty enough. Little things like your friends having boyfriends, or even them getting invited to parties more has us think a little about our appearance we think something is wrong, when in reality nothing is. Billboard’s, magazines, even the posters of the models at your local shopping mall make you feel like you not good looking enough seeing their fit bodies, and perfect skin brings a view of unappreciated appearance to the mirror, I feel that we shouldn’t care about your appearance, well just make sure you just take a shower you know keep yourself smelling good. Now when it comes to the appearances of the males, us girls tend to go start for the looks, then we find out their personality and see it’s sometimes not pretty. I think all of all including the males go for what catches their eyes, seeing the pretty girl, and cute boy. Now for the money part I wouldn’t know what to say I’m really not there yet, but maybe women do go for men who make a lot of cash. They’re a lot of reasons on why people care about their outer appearance, when really we are beautiful.
